103. Never Stop Making Foil Brontosauri Crap Raisins

The movie theater was cold from A/C. I was alone with granddad. It was a school day, but when granddad visited from Florida I got to take days off. We got butter on our popcorn, which meant lots of brown paper napkins rolled to oily shreds between our hands and stuffed into cup holders.
It was a PG-13 movie. I had wanted to see an R, but mom is old-fashioned. She’s holding out till I’m seventeen for R, she says; but since I had turned thirteen recently, a PG-13 had her blessing.
Shivering, greasy-fingered, eating white, squishy handfuls of fluffy corn, I watched advertisements for Sprite and M&M’s. Granddad complained that the sound wasn’t loud enough.
“These are the commercials, granddad,” I said.
